Storm, wind and hail damage roof repair in Las Vegas

Monsoon microbursts, wind-lifted tile and debris strikes, assessed and repaired.

Best Vegas Roofer is a referral service, not a roofing contractor. We connect you with independent local roofing contractors who perform the work under their own licence and insurance. We do not perform roofing work and we do not warrant or guarantee any work performed. There is no charge to be matched.

Las Vegas does not get much weather, and that is precisely the problem. Roofs here spend most of the year being slowly cooked, then face a small number of genuinely violent monsoon cells with microburst winds and brief high volume rain. Material that has gone brittle in the heat is exactly what fails under that load.

After a storm, the damage is frequently not obvious from the ground. Lifted tiles settle back down. A shingle that has broken its seal looks fine until the next wind. We connect you with an independent roofing contractor who can inspect it properly and document what they find.

What monsoon damage actually looks like

After a significant storm, these are the things worth looking for from ground level, with binoculars if you have them, and worth having inspected properly:

  • Tiles, shingle tabs or sections of ridge cap on the ground or in the garden
  • Visible gaps, dark patches or misaligned rows along the roof line
  • Granules from asphalt shingles collecting in gutters or at downspout outlets
  • Bent, lifted or detached flashing, drip edge or ridge vents
  • Debris resting on the roof: branches, fence panels, patio furniture, neighbours’ belongings
  • Dents or bruising on soft metal surfaces such as vents, flashings and air conditioning housings, which is often the clearest evidence of hail
  • New interior stains, damp patches or a musty smell after the storm

Insurance claims: what we do and do not do

Best Vegas Roofer does not file, adjust or negotiate insurance claims, and we make no promise about whether a claim will be approved. Your insurer and their adjuster handle that. What an independent roofing contractor can do is inspect the roof and document the damage clearly, which is useful evidence whatever your insurer decides.

Be cautious with anyone who knocks on your door after a storm promising to get your claim approved, to waive your deductible, or to handle everything if you just sign here. Waiving a deductible is not a favour, and it is worth asking your own insurer about before you sign anything. Storm chasing is a real pattern after weather events, and the contractor is frequently gone by the time the work fails.

Check any contractor on the Nevada State Contractors Board licence search before signing, and check the separate discipline search too. Both are free and take a minute.

Act before the next cell, not after the season

Monsoon season runs through the late summer months and rarely delivers a single storm. A roof opened up by the first cell is exposed to every one that follows, and the second storm through an existing gap usually does more interior damage than the first did to the roof.

If a storm has visibly moved anything on your roof, getting it looked at before the next one is the cheapest decision available.

Who actually does the work

An independent roofing contractor, working under their own Nevada licence and insurance, not Best Vegas Roofer. They inspect your roof, quote you directly, and warrant their own work. Roofing in Nevada falls under contractor licence classification C-15, Roofing and Siding, issued by the Nevada State Contractors Board. (Nevada State Contractors Board, License Classifications)

Before work starts, check them yourself. The Nevada State Contractors Board publishes a free public licence search, so you can confirm a contractor is licensed, check the classification they hold and see their licence status before any work starts. Frequently asked questions

Does it really hail in Las Vegas?

Yes, occasionally, and monsoon cells can produce it. It is uncommon enough that most valley homeowners do not think to look for it, which is why hail bruising on vents and flashings often goes unnoticed until a roof is inspected for something else.

A roofer knocked on my door after the storm. Is that normal?

It happens constantly after weather events and some of those contractors are perfectly legitimate. The safeguard is the same either way: verify the licence on the state board search, check the discipline search, get the scope in writing, and never feel rushed into signing on the doorstep.

Will you deal with my insurance company?

No. We are a referral service and we have no role in your claim. We will not promise you an approval or a waived deductible, and we would treat anyone who does with caution.

My roof looks fine from the ground after the storm. Do I need an inspection?

If the storm was significant, it is worth one. Wind damage frequently breaks the seal on shingles or lifts tiles that then settle back into position looking untouched. The failure shows up at the next storm rather than this one.
